'The Artist,' 'Take Shelter' Dominate Indie Spirit Award Nominations

In the documentary category, noms went to An African Selection, Bill Cunningham NY, The Interrupters, The Redemption of General Butt Naked and We Were Here. The Spirit Award focus on American-made features made with what it calls "an economy of means," generally budgets under $20 million.
