Arctic MonkeysSuck It And See disappointing?

Suck It And See isn't that good.
I've been a fan of AM since
2006, seen them live twice, each
time I left the venue I was
sweating, smiling, and buzzing
for weeks about how cool the
music and live experience was.
But this new album is just
so...blah. It has about 1/16th the
energy of their other albums.
And I'm all for changing up style.
Why do the same album twice?
But Suck It And See just seems
so..mellow?
Alex sings so quiet now, the
guitars just sort of jingle jangle in
the background, Helders, where
are you?
There are some good moments,
"Library Pictures", "All My Own
Stunts", "That's Where You're
Wrong"....but the majority of the
songs make me want to punch
Alex in the gut - not out of
hatred, but so he would exhale
and put some "omph" behind
his vocals! Everything just seems
so docile now.
I dunno. Maybe it's just me.
